Meet Minky van der Walt (she/her)
Supporting healthcare workers, educators and first responders experiencing burnout and vicarious trauma. Trauma therapist and clinical supervisor, Hobart and online.
Clinical Member PACFA, Registered Music Therapist and Clinical Supervisor
For over 25 years I've worked alongside people doing some of the most demanding relational work there is - nurses, allied health, teachers, doctors, child protection workers, therapists.
I know what it costs to keep showing up for others.
And I know what it looks like when someone skilled, experienced and deeply committed to their work is carrying far more than the frameworks around them have ever acknowledged.
I'm a clinical member of PACFA, a Registered Music Therapist, trauma therapist and accredited clinical supervisor based in Hobart, Tasmania, with more than 15 years of specialist experience in trauma, working with clients across Australia
My career has taken me through large public hospitals, private hospitals, primary and secondary schools, early childhood centres, community mental health, child and adolescent therapy services and private practice, including more than 20 years in clinical supervision. I've worked directly with individuals and families impacted by family violence and abuse, and alongside the educators, emergency workers and health professionals who support them.
I understand these systems and know the impact of this work.
